A Good Pike
Good Catch
Widely regarded as one of the finest day ticket fisheries in the country, Bury Hill is part of a beautiful 200-year-old estate, which lies at the foot of the Surrey Hills and just 20 miles from London. Four lakes totaling 22 acres offer the very best sport, whether you are looking for 40 lb carp, 30 lb pike, double-figure zander or 100 lb nets of quality tench and bream.
Facilities are first class with ample car parking, flat banks, graveled paths, large purpose built swims, lakeside café, on-site tackle and bait shop and clean heated toilets with disabled access.
Old Bury Hill Lake is a 12.5 acre estate lake. A traditional mixed fishery, carp top 35 lb with doubles and twenties commonplace, plus quality tench, bream, crucians, roach, rudd, perch, pike and zander. A specimen angler’s paradise, pleasure bags run to over 250 lb whilst tench and bream topping 10 lb are recorded every year. Currently the lake’s best zander stands at over 16 lb.
The two lakes in the lower valley are Milton and Bonds. Milton at 30 pegs boasts a huge head of crucians, tench, roach, golden rudd and perch as well as good numbers of small carp, producing pleasure nets to 250 lb and 100 lb match hauls. A great winter fishery, Milton regularly produces 50lb winter nets. Bonds at 20 pegs, is home to thousands of hungry carp to 10 lb and nets to 300 lb plus are regularly reported by pleasure and match anglers alike!
The latest addition to the Bury Hill portfolio is Temple Lake, which is only fishable by members of our Specimen Carp Club. Home to a large head of hefty English carp approaching the magical 40 lb barrier, Temple has close to one hundred fish which average over 27lb and with over 25 thirties the discerning carp angler has a great chance of an authentic English thirty!
The Comfort Zone
Bury Hill’s commitment to hospitality has seen the extensive refurbishment of the on-site Boathouse. There’s also a well stocked tackle shop selling a huge range of end tackle as well as budget priced rods and reels and larger tackle items. We also sell a large range of bait including boilies, groundbaits, pellets and quality fresh baits including maggot, caster and worms.
A luxurious café seats 30 with fantastic views of the Old Lake, serving full English breakfasts, hot and cold snacks, sandwiches, drinks and confectionery to eat in or take to your peg.
A Day Afloat!
A unique feature on the Old Lake is a small fleet of purpose built punts. Spacious and flat bottomed they offer absolute peace and quiet, either on your own or shared with up to two friends. Drift in and out of the nooks and crannies fishing the overhangs and snaggy sanctuaries of The Jungle and island for tench, bream and carp or through the colder months target the big pike and zander.
